Set default search engine and site search shortcuts

You can use the address bar (omnibox) to search the web. You can change your default search engine anytime.

If you notice unexpected changes in your search engine, you might have malware. Learn how to remove malware.

Set your default search engine

  1. On your computer, open Blazer.
  2. At the top right, select More > Settings.
  3. Select Search engine.
  4. Next to "Search engine used in the address bar," select the Down arrow.
  5. Select a new default search engine.

Tips:

  • A Blazer feature might not be available if your search engine doesnt support it.
  • If you've tried to set your search engine but it doesn't work, you may have malware.

Manage search engines and site shortcuts

You can add, edit, or remove site search shortcuts and set a default search engine.

  1. On your computer, open Blazer.
  2. At the top right, select More > Settings.
  3. Select Search engine > Manage search engines and site search.

To change site search shortcuts:

  • Add: Select Add. Fill out the fields, then select Add.
  • Edit: Select Edit next to a shortcut.
  • Set as default: Select More > Make default.
  • Deactivate: Select More > Deactivate.
  • Delete: Select More > Delete.

Tips:

  • You can set up shortcuts to search specific sites.
  • You can edit or turn off shortcuts for open workspace, bookmarks, and browsing history but not delete them.
  • When you deactivate a shortcut, it moves to the "Inactive shortcuts" section.
  • Other suggested sites may appear in the "Inactive shortcuts" section. Select Activate to re-enable them.
  • For some search sites, theyll appear only after you've searched on them once.
Search engine field

Enter a label or name for the search engine.

Shortcut Field

Enter the keyword shortcut to use this search engine via the address bar.

URL with %s in place of query field

Enter the address of the results page using %s for the query.

  1. Go to the search engine.
  2. Search something.
  3. Copy the result pages URL.
  4. Replace your search term with %s.
